There are many services available to support your decision to stay at home, for example, meal delivery, in-home healthcare, therapies, transportation services, and Senior Home Modifications. Most importantly, in order for you (or a loved one) to remain in your home, a home safety assessment needs to be conducted and changes (or modifications) need to be made to make your home safer and more accessible for you as you age. Today, only 20% of Seniors who plan to stay home, live in a home that is suitable to age in place, and requires no modifications.
We created Brady Senior Home Solutions after our experience helping a family member fulfill their wish to Age In Place. We realized how difficult and overwhelming the path to Aging In Place can be for Seniors and their families. We wanted to create a business that shared our expertise and experience with our customers to provide them with simple, convenient, and reliable service. The following is our story.
Born out of frustration, Brady Senior Home Solutions was created to help Seniors remain in the comfort and security of their homes, as they age.
A few years ago, Nicola’s Grandfather, facing increasing limitations due to health conditions, found himself in the hospital. Naturally, his family rallied around him to provide support. Upon his discharge from the hospital, it was brought to their attention that they may want to consider a care facility for Grandfather in order for him to be safe and comfortable. Nicola’s Grandfather was quite adamant that he did not want to leave his home and so his family was tasked with making sure it was safe for him to remain there.
And, boy, was it a project! It was hard to know where to begin, what exactly he needed, and who could do it. First, they had to take the house itself, due to his declining health and inability to keep up with the maintenance of his home there were a few areas that needed immediate repair (roof, heating/cooling system & electrical) to ensure his safety. Once they had that in hand, the next objective was to make the home safe and accessible for Grandfather. Doug was a helpful resource (with over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator) but they still had to research home modifications and the products available to create more accessibility within the home to create a plan. Next, they had to interview countless contractors, select the correct contractors and oversee them as they worked, to ensure Grandfather’s safety during the construction. It was exhausting and very overwhelming, but knowing that they were able to honor their Grandfather’s wishes to remain in his home, safe and independent, made it worthwhile.
